ABOUT

Ela Jean, she/her NASM-CPT, GGS-1 Women’s Coaching Specialist

I’m a trauma-informed personal trainer + coach based in Santa Rosa, California.

My mission as a coach is to let you be you— to help you build a movement practice that fits into your life, without taking it over. One that evolves with you, doesn’t define who you are. My work is to support you in feeling at home in your body, unlocking your strength, and finding confidence, freedom, and joy in movement.

The fitness industry is bogus!  It’s gatekeepy, culty, confusing, and thrives on our insecurities. But despite what the algorithm is feeding you, MOVEMENT IS FOR EVERYONE — there is no barrier to entry, no club you have to join, no wrong way to move your body, no one way to program, eat, or look, and there are NO LIMITS to your potential.

I work with people of all genders, ages, and experience levels—especially those who’ve felt uncomfortable or out of place in fitness spaces. Together, we work toward your goals, relating to:

  • Strength + endurance

  • Mobility, stability + balance

  • Body recomposition (fat loss, muscle building)

  • Injury prevention + rehabilitation (post-clinical)

  • Athletic performance

  • Mind-body connection

  • Building life-enriching habits

my coaching style

This is a collaboration. We’ll start with your goals — I’ll help you navigate the obstacles and lay the groundwork for a path forward. Your feedback will guide how the program evolves, and if something’s not feeling right, doesn’t align with your life, or just isn’t vibing, we’ll adjust.

Beyond your goals, I want to help you:

  • Realize your full potential (you’re stronger than you think)

  • Balance pushing yourself with patience and compassion

  • Build habits that support the life you want to lead, long-term

I build science-based, full-spectrum programs tailored to you, often blending:

  • Full-body strength training (in all planes of motion)

  • Mobility + flexibility work

  • Plyometrics / power training

  • Stability + balance drills

  • Cardio / conditioning

  • Recovery — because rest is just as important as the work

FAQs

  • Probably not. Most gyms have rules against outside personal trainers working on the premises. But, you can ask them!

  • Unfortunately, no.

  • No, not exactly. I’m not here to hand out one-size-fits-all templates.

My approach is all about sustainability- building habits that fit your lifestyle and keep life joyful! So for clients interested in help with nutrition, I offer guidance and support with setting goals, and tools to help you reach them. Through the Misfit Training app, we can set calorie or macro goals, sync with MyFitnessPal, and use the food journal to share quick meal snapshots and explore simple, realistic changes together.

Disclaimer: I’m not a registered dietitian. If you have medical conditions or need clinical support, I’ll always recommend working with a licensed nutrition professional.
